Follow the hottest esports action in Malaysia and around the world — bet live on MPL MLBB matches, DOTA 2 The International, CS2, Valorant Champions Tour, and much more. Petron99 brings you the best odds, the most complete markets, and the most seamless esports betting experience for Malaysian players.
If you follow the Malaysian esports scene closely, you know just how fast this industry has grown over the past few years. From packed crowds at Axiata Arena during MPL Malaysia Season matches to local teams representing the country on the international stage — esports is no longer just a niche hobby. It has become a genuine sport followed by millions of fans across the country.
Petron99 understands this landscape. Our esports betting platform is built specifically to serve local fans — with coverage that prioritises the leagues and tournaments most relevant to Malaysian players. MPL Malaysia for Mobile Legends Bang Bang is our top priority, followed by DOTA 2, CS2, Valorant tournaments, and several other popular titles gaining traction within the local esports community.
Betting on esports at Petron99 is also far simpler than on other platforms. The entire interface is available in Malay, all amounts are in MYR, and deposits can be made instantly via Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow, or FPX through banks like Maybank2u and CIMB Clicks. No currency conversion, no complicated processes — just log in, pick your match, and place your bet in minutes.
One major advantage esports betting has over traditional sports is frequency — esports matches take place almost every day. MPL Malaysia alone runs matches every weekend during the active season. DOTA 2 and CS2 have tournaments running nearly year-round from all corners of the globe. This means on Petron99, you always have options to bet on without waiting weeks for the next fixture.
Beyond that, players who are truly plugged into the esports community — those who track the current meta, understand roster strengths, and follow patch changes — hold a meaningful analytical edge over casual bettors. Deep familiarity with the Malaysian MLBB scene, for instance, can sharpen your ability to read odds more accurately and spot value betting opportunities.

Esports betting at Petron99 goes beyond simply picking a winner. We offer a wide range of markets that let you put your in-depth game knowledge to work, finding more specific and rewarding betting opportunities.
The most straightforward market — bet on which team wins the overall match (best of 3 or best of 5). Perfect for beginners just getting started with esports betting on Petron99.
The weaker team is given a map handicap. Example: Team A -1.5 maps means they need to win by at least 2-0. This market offers more attractive odds when one team is heavily dominant.
Bet on whether the match will go to 2 maps or 3 maps. Useful when you know one team has a clear edge — expect the match to end 2-0.
In-match markets include which team draws first blood, destroys the first tower, or secures the first Lord kill. These require in-depth knowledge of each team's playstyle.
Bet while the match is live with odds that shift in real time. Petron99 offers live markets for all major MLBB, DOTA 2, and CS2 matches. This is the most thrilling market for players watching the action as it unfolds.
CS2 offers more granular markets than most MOBA titles. At Petron99, you can bet on individual round winners, total rounds per map, which team wins the first map, and much more. The Over/Under on total rounds is one of the most popular markets because it can be analyzed based on each team's playstyle — methodical teams that grind out long rounds versus aggressive teams that look to end rounds quickly.
Many people don't realise just how active Malaysia is on the international esports scene. In MLBB, Malaysia is one of the strongest nations in Southeast Asia — MPL Malaysia teams like Geek Fam, Team HAQ, RSG Malaysia, and others have already proven themselves on the world stage. In DOTA 2, Malaysian players like djardel and the Fnatic Malaysia squad have competed at The International. Local knowledge of these teams is a genuine edge you can put to use when betting on Petron99.

The Malaysian esports scene has grown at a remarkable pace. Five years ago, MPL Malaysia was still in its early stages, followed by only a small group of dedicated fans. Today, each MPL season draws hundreds of thousands of viewers online, major corporations sponsor local teams, and young players from across the country dream of building a professional esports career.
For players looking to bet more effectively on Petron99, understanding team dynamics is key. Unlike traditional sports, esports rosters can shift rapidly — player departures, import signings, or meta changes brought on by a new patch can all alter a team's strength within a very short time. Bettors who actively follow local esports community news hold a significant edge.
Another important factor in esports betting is head-to-head analysis. Some Malaysian MLBB teams have strong records against specific opponents even when their overall standings don't reflect that. Psychological factors, clashing playstyles, and direct match history are all highly valuable pieces of information when assessing odds on Petron99.
In MLBB, Riot Games and Moonton regularly release patch updates that shift the hero balance. A patch that buffs several underused heroes can suddenly favor teams that have long specialized in those picks. Conversely, a nerf to a team's core heroes can significantly hurt their performance in the first week or two after the patch drops.
Petron99 continuously updates team stats and performance records in our Esports section. This lets you make betting decisions based on current data — not just big names or old reputations. We believe that well-informed bettors make better decisions and enjoy a more rewarding experience.
This is a question that often comes up among new players on Petron99. The answer depends on your background knowledge. If you're an active MLBB player who plays every day, you're likely better positioned to analyse MPL matches than EPL or Liga Super Malaysia matches you only follow casually. The reverse applies just as well.
One of esports' biggest advantages is how freely available the data is — player stats, head-to-head records, preferred hero win rates, and more are all findable within online communities. This is unlike football, where key internal information such as player injuries and training tactics is hard to come by. Use this edge when betting on esports at Petron99.
